Wonderful article on the importance behind the prices of hand-made items. Would be a great read for, say, everyone, but particularly everyone who has ever tried to commission me and told me I was charging too much (which is 80% of people).
This really opened my eyes. I never really thought of it the way she describes. If I think about selling my snoods at £15 (which I originally thought was expensive, as some hight street shops sell them cheaper) I realise that if it takes 7 hours (which the last one did) I would essentially be paying myself 0.46 pence per hour. Not including any of the materials.
I will definitely not be shocked by etsy prices now, when I think of it this way :)

ARGH! This is so freakin’ adorable I had to share it straight away! My friend Chelsea is having a baby and I was trying to think of something a little ‘different’ for the baby, this is perfect! So cute. Oh my gosh. OK, I need to go on Etsy and find someone to make this for me!

I definitely want to give this scarf a go, it seems like a simple enough pattern for a new knitter to follow if they want something a little fancier than a simple garter or stockinette stitch.
